Xie Qiuye Attends China-Russia Energy Business Forum

On November 29, the China-Russia Energy Business Forum was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin sent congratulation letters to the forum. Han Zheng, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Igor Sechin, Executive Secretary of the Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security and CEO and Chairman of Rosneft Oil, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.Xie Qiuye, president of EPPEI, and Xu Xiaodong, Vice President of EPPEI, were invited to attend the meeting.

Xie attended the parallel forum of "Coal and Electric Power" and gave a speech entitled Planning to Lead Practical Cooperation between China and Russia in Electric Power Sector. He introduced the achievement of China-Russian electric power cooperation planning and research carried out by the EPPEI, and believed that the two countries have great potential for cooperation in the fields of power supply, power grid, power interconnection and technical equipment. Xie suggested that in the future, the government could give full play to its planning, guidance and coordination service functions, implement a fast-track model for key projects of China-Russia electric power cooperation, promote the docking of power technology standards, give full play to the role of think-tanks and scientific research institutions of the two countries, and jointly promote further practical cooperation on electric power between China and Russia.

It is learned that more than 400 representatives from relevant departments of China and Russia and nearly 90 enterprises from the fields of energy, finance and information attended the China-Russian Energy Business Forum. Participants engaged in candid dialogue and exchanges in various fields, had in-depth discussions on expanding opportunities for energy cooperation between the two sides, and accurately matched cooperation needs and further consolidated the basis of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.

The head of the international business department of the EPPEI and relevant personnel attended the meeting.
